WOW! The Center for Science in the Public Interest is showing some spunk. CSPI chief Michael Jacobson claimed that talk-show star Rosie O’Donnell refused to endorse the fat substitute Olestra. Truth is, Ms. Rosie had a scheduling conflict. “Don’t care!” says Mike. He’s leaving his version of the “truth” on his Web site, anyway.
“Let’s say it’s not true,” he announced. “In one way, the Web is history and one could argue that organizations should leave a public record of everything they’ve done and said.” Interesting argument. But when CSPI was recently found out to have distorted some research to make a case against soft drinks, they quickly pulled the claim off of their Web site.
