We told you last month that activists from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) were spreading an anti-milk message directly to Chicago schoolchildren. Now it looks like the group will continue this tactic, handing out leaflets and trading cards to public school students as they leave classes for the day. In a press release describing this new “dump dairy” campaign, PETA claims that milk has been linked to “serious health problems, including heart disease, cancer, stroke, and even osteoporosis.” Since when? Kids today have enough trouble separating fact from fantasy. The last thing we should saddle them with is deceptive animal-rights propaganda. We’d like to propose a deal with PETA: we won’t force-feed their kids any milk, if they just agree to leave ours alone.
