A group of anti-meat activists protested in front of the San Diego corporate headquarters of “Jack in the Box” Wednesday, complaining about the chain’s new television advertisements. The ad campaign features a fictional football team called the “Carnivores,” which (of course) defeats their wimpy vegetarian opponents. A Los Angeles Times reporter asked one police officer on the scene if he was assigned to the protest detail in order to protect the store. “Nope,” he answered. “I’m just waiting for someone to bring me a burger.”
