People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has long made public-relations hay out of Dr. Benjamin Spock’s suggestion, late in life, that parents feed their kids only veggies (and no milk!) after age 2. Now, in Spock’s home town of New Haven, PETA has erected a billboard designed to scare parents. It reads: “Got Sick Kids? Drinking milk contributes to colic, ear infections, allergies, diabetes, obesity, and many other illnesses.”
