No Bones About It

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), an animal-rights front group with ties to violent extremists, now advises parents that the best way to promote strong bones in their kids is to exclude milk and animal protein from their diets. It’s just the latest anti-dairy diatribe from pro-vegan PCRM.

It’s a position that has not won much respect in the legitimate medical community. In fact, the latest paper by PCRM head Neal Barnard, “Milk Consumption and Prostate Cancer,” did not appear in a peer-reviewed journal, but on VegSource, a pro-vegetarian website headed by Jeffrey Armour Nelson, chairman of EarthSave International and heir to the Armour meatpacking fortune. EarthSave contains any number of snake-oil salesmen, often making a quick buck from a gullible segment of the public.
