Maybe CSPI has a point…

Few things are as satisfying as watching a bully pick on one of his own. The health nannies at the Center for Science in the Public Interest proved this yesterday by taking pot shots at Ben & Jerry’s for “falsely claiming that some of its ice cream and frozen yogurt products are ‘All Natural’.” CSPI president Michael Jacobson complained in a press release (which has already seen air-time on CNN and Fox) that some of Ben & Jerry’s magical ingredients are (gasp!) “man-made.” Oh, the horror.

Ben & Jerry’s has a long history of practicing something called “caring capitalism” by funneling a portion of its profits into “deserving charities” – including the violent Ruckus Society, coffee eco-labeler Global Exchange, and the Institute for Social Ecology (where Earth Liberation Front ringleader Craig Rosebraugh has enrolled for graduate studies).

Bring it on, CSPI. It couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch of guys.
