A Steady Diet Of Common Sense

Why did the chicken cross the road?

She didn’t want to get hit with a frivolous lawsuit.

“Frivolous.” That’s how an editorial in The Republican (Springfield, Massachusetts) described the Center For Science in the Public Interest’s (CSPI) lawsuit against KFC for using cooking oil that contains trans fats. The Republican’s editorial goes on to offer a good dose of common sense to the judge hearing CSPI’s frivolous suit:

By tossing this case in the deep fryer, the judge who hears this case can deliver a message to the American consumer: You have to exercise some responsibility for your body. In other words, a steady diet of common sense.

If the lawsuit succeeds, the judge will deliver a different message to the American consumer: You are not smart enough to make your own choices.
