CCF Responds to Fizzled out NYC Soda Ban

This afternoon New York State Judge Milton Tingling ruled that Mayor Bloomberg’s paternalistic soda ban was invalid and enjoined the enforcement of the law.

J. Justin Wilson, Senior Research Analyst at the Center for Consumer Freedom, reacted to the news saying, “This serves as a major blow to Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s incessant finger wagging. The court confirmed what most New Yorkers already know: They don’t need a government regulator to dictate their diet choices. New Yorkers should celebrate this victory by taking a big gulp of freedom.”

Founded in 1996, the Center for Consumer Freedom is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization devoted to promoting personal responsibility and protecting consumer choices. For more information, visit ConsumerFreedom.com.
