In The Good 'Ol Summertime,Then and Now


If the folklore is to be believed, the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair was the birthplace of many American favorites. It's interesting to see how much our nation has changed since then.

THEN: Englishman Richard Blechyden can't even give away his fresh-brewed hot tea at the sweltering World's Fair, so he dumps ice into his brew and creates iced tea.

NOW: A local health department misinterprets the data from some clinical tests, triggering an international media frenzy about "bacteria contamination" in iced tea.
