We didn’t think they could do it…

…but People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has hit a new low.

Lower than the cheap shots they took at Rudy Giuliani after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Lower than suggesting that a Florida shark attack on a little boy was “revenge” against humans who had it coming anyway. Lower than branding parents who feed their kids meat and milk “child abusers.” Even lower than donating tens of thousands of dollars to convicted violent criminals and others involved with acts of domestic terrorism.

In response to a grisly killing spree that left at least 15 women dead in Vancouver, PETA has tried to purchase full-page ads in the Vancouver Province and Vancouver Sun suggesting that this carnage was no worse than the killing of animals for food. Both papers are refusing the run the ads, but PETA told CTV Television that it will try to force the issue in court.

Asked for comment, the grandfather of one of the serial-murder victims told CBC News: “That is the most disgusting thing I’ve heard in my whole life.” Another angry family member called PETA’s ploy “unethical in and of itself.” A third distraught relative told CTV: “All they’re talking about is the pain of the animals. They don't care about the pain of the families. They’re torturing us.”
