Post-PCRM Week: A Tale Of Two Photos

Leading up to this past Saturday's black-tie gala for the 20th anniversary of the misnamed Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), we spent a week documenting the PETA-affiliated group's ties to violent animal rights activists, its attacks on dairy foods, and admonishments from the American Medical Association. And just to leaven those very serious issues with some humor, we offered ideas for commemorative PCRM T-shirts and ran a tongue-in-cheek full-page newspaper ad congratulating the group on 20 years of hiding its animal-rights agenda from the public.

Now we offer a few shots from our scrapbook of a 10-by-30-foot surprise we had in store for PCRM on Saturday night. Inside the party, celebrity host Alec Baldwin -- who, like 95 percent of PCRM members has no medical degree -- lauded the work of PCRM, PETA, and the Humane Society of the United States. Outside, we unveiled our new website, PhysicianScam.com, via a truck billboard:

By the time night fell, our sign was as well lit as the PCRM gala-goers who focused slurred, drunken epithets at our message as they left their PETA-party.
