Don't Sue The Hand That Feeds You

Don't Sue The Hand That Feeds You Click here to download our "Thanksgiving Guest Liability and Indemnification Agreement"

This Thanksgiving, as you and yours gather around the table to give thanks, be sure to have a signed copy of the Center for Consumer Freedom's Thanksgiving Guest Liability and Indemnification Agreement nearby, just in case anyone asks for a side of litigation with his or her turkey. It's a sad sign of the times, but with trial lawyers like John Banzhaf and Dick Daynard set to sue the stuffing out of restaurants and food producers (not to mention doctors, school boards, and parents) for supposedly making us fat, you can't be too careful.

Among other important clauses, the Agreement hampers your guest's ability to prevail in a lawsuit by warning that if "Guest has brought minors to Host's Thanksgiving 'kiddies' table, Guest assumes responsibility for monitoring said minors' eating habits and guarding against any and all attendant hazards at all times."

By signing the form, your guest "acknowledges that eating may incur risks including, but not limited to, satiation, indigestion, heart burn, laziness, holiday spirit, 'food coma,' and 'that bloated feeling.'"

So, as you settle in this holiday season for a healthy dose of good cheer, don't let the trial lawyers and food cops ruin your Turkey Day. Click here to download your own Indemnification Agreement. You'll be thankful you did.
