He Ain't No Joan Of Arc

A Seattle-like coalition of trade unionists, religious leaders, environmentalists, farmers, animal rights activists, and anarchists is gathering in Millau, France to protest at the trial of professional rabble-rouser and anti-choice "hero" Jose Bove. Bove is on trial for leading an attack that led to the destruction of a McDonald's restaurant. In the past, Bove also led an attack on a laboratory experimenting with genetically modified rice and worked with Greenpeace to protest nuclear testing. ("France's farmers cause a stink over fast food," The Independent - London, 8/25/00.)
