The National Academy of Sciences, The Royal Society of London, the national academies of science of Brazil, China, India, and the Third World Academy of Science all agree that without genetically improved foods, it will be impossible to feed the world’s poor in the future without destroying the environment.

Not that science means anything to the anti-choice nannies. The Organic Consumers Association’s Ronnie Cummins relies on opinion polls and scientifically baseless horror stories to make a case against genetic engineering and conventional agriculture while Martin Teitel of the Council for Responsible Genetics questions why we would even use science to judge genetic engineering in the first place.
