Want A Promotion At PETA? Advocate Violence

Defending violence will get you a promotion at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), it seems. Bruce Friedrich, the extremist best known for his views on animal-rights arsons ("I think it would be a great thing if all of these fast-food outlets, and these slaughterhouses, and these laboratories, and the banks that fund them exploded tomorrow") has been kicked upstairs. Once PETA's director of vegan outreach, Friedrich is now the group's new vice president of International Grassroots Campaigns, as reported by The New York Times.

Friedrich believes that "blowing stuff up and smashing windows [is] a great way to bring about animal liberation," and it appears that at PETA, advocating violence against your philosophical opponents is also a great way to snag a key to the executive washroom (or maybe PETA's kill-freezer).
