Zaping The New Organic Standards

The Executive Editor of Tufts University’s Health and Nutrition Newsletter – writing in the Washington Post – takes the U.S. Department of Agriculture to task for erroneously implying irradiation is unsafe when it ruled that products processed with this life-saving technology cannot be labeled organic. He points to endorsements by the World Health Organization, the American Medical Association, the U.S. Public Health Service, and the United Nations attesting to the safety and benefits of the now-commercially available E-coli-zapping process.
