Bonzo Gets A Bill Of Rights?

A legal fight over custody of a chimpanzee between the city of Los Angeles and the chimps owners has been twisted by animal rights activists into a battle for a “Bill of Rights” for animals. “We will have shown that an animal is more than a piece of property in the eyes of the law and has considerations and rights that deserve to be addressed and, if necessary, remedied,” says Joyce Tishler of the Animal Legal Defense Fund.
