In her new book (which appears to be a catalog of anti-food junk science rhetoric), syndicated radio show host and author Carol Simontacchi says today’s food is driving us nuts, making us depressed, anxious, tense, obsessive, and stupid. In “The Crazy Makers: How the Food Industry Is Destroying Our Brains,” Simontacchi even goes so far as to say coffee-makers are “encouraging us to self-medicate with stimulating beverages that mask the symptoms of nervous system and adrenal exhaustion.”
