Syndicated columnist Sandra Gordon repeats the erroneous “organic is safer” claims in her latest article. She apparently didn’t hear Cargill Chairman Ernest Micek’s speech yesterday, where he pointed out, “There is some evidence that food grown organically is not as healthy as food grown using conventional, high-yield agriculture, including biotechnology,” a point perfectly illustrated by the fact that the British supermarket chain Tesco has taken its organic mushrooms off the shelf because of E. coli fears.
