We’ll Take That Gamble!

In the Food & Restaurants section of its annual “Best of Palm Beach” issue, the Broward Palm-Beach (FL) New Times pauses to declare that steak houses are the “Best Places to Gamble.” Despite the fact that the U.S. has not seen a single case of mad cow disease or its human equivalent, the alternative-press New Times advises that “there’s always a first time. So nix on those sweetbreads and mystery-meat sausages – unless, of course, you don’t mind a gamble.” We’d like to remind the New Times of what Dr. Paul Brown (of the National Institutes of Health) recently told CNN: “We don’t have mad cow disease. We probably never will have mad cow disease, and therefore it is a non-problem in the United States.”
