Infecting The Mind With Fear

In a recent issue of National Review, James Swan takes stock of the recurring hysteria related to what some media have called “mad deer disease.” As you may have read in our groundbreaking Mad Cow report, this is nothing more than Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) a malady that affects elk and deer. CWD is not the same as mad cow disease. There’s no reason to believe that it poses a threat to human beings. Still, as Swan notes, “biological diseases can also infect the human mind with fear. That is bad enough, but fear is also the weapon of terrorists.”
