With the addition of a landmark report on the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), our award-winning ActivistCash website is better than ever. But we’re not resting on our laurels. Starting today, we’ve opened the floodgates on our larger database of activist-group funders.
In addition to in-depth profiles on nearly 40 anti-consumer organizations (and the more than 500 foundations that keep them flush with cash), we’re now providing financial data about the many other activist groups that these funders support.
For example, you can now see that:
In addition to supporting HSUS, PETA, and the phony PETA-affiliated Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, the Glaser Foundation (funded with profits from Rob Glaser’s “RealPlayer” software empire) gives significant contributions to the anti-capitalist Adbusters magazine, Ralph Nader’s “Essential Information” group, and the Earth Day Network;
The Rockefeller Brothers Fund gives to radicals besides Environmental Media Services, the Tides Foundation, and the anti-free-trade Institute for Agriculture & Trade Policy — its other grantees include the anti-biotech Friends of the Earth, the fringe Pesticide Action Network, and the radical Earth Island Institute;
Ted Turner’s personal bankroll has enriched more than just the Ruckus Society and Greenpeace — he also heavily funds the National Environmental Trust, Ralph Nader’s US PIRG, and the Earth First!-affiliated Ecology Center in Missoula, Montana;
And Barbara Streisand uses her private foundation to bankroll more than just the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Center for Science in the Public Interest. She also sends plenty of cash to the outrageous Rainforest Action Network and Environmental Defense.
Stay tuned in coming weeks as we bring you even more of the activist money trail. Soon you’ll be able to search our database for funding data on more than 250 organizations that threaten your food and beverage choices.
