Between PETAKillsAnimals.com and its parent site ConsumerFreedom.com, we’ve received a slew of letters from a lot of readers angry about the wingnuts at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Three recent letters in particular are too good to pass up. Reader Amanda wrote in to tell us how PETAKillsAnimals.com changed her mind about the animal rights group:
“I could not believe what I was reading. At one time I actually supported PETA and even sent in donations from time to time. But since I saw the article about the 2 PETA employees killing animals I was speechless and very, very angry. I never in my right mind thought there would be a day that I would be against PETA. But I guess that day has come.”
Young Faye had a similar reaction to what she learned through PETAKillsAnimals.com:
“I didn’t know all the things that PETA has done in terms of harming animals. I may be very young, but I’m already an individual with strong opinions on the treatment and well-being of animals. I’m still not exactly sure what you stand for, but I was once very much with PETA. I thought that their views were moral … But if they’re killing animals I’m sure I don’t want to be a part of that.”
Finally, reader Roberta makes some excellent points on the contradictions of animal rights:
“If animal rights activists like PETA and the like consider humans only animals and not any different than animals, how come they attack people? If they love animals and people are animals, why don’t they love people?
“Also, if the human animal is not allowed to eat other animals, how do they reconcile that animals do eat other animals? Bears eat fish, cats birds, and lions eat wildebeests, Cape buffalos, and other animals, fish eat other fish, and Great White sharks eat seals. Are they going to go after these animals because they kill other animals for food? Destroy all predators, as it were?”
