People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has been playing love games with celebrity activists for quite some time. While some have been diehard extremists for the wacky cause, others have not accommodated PETA’s demands.

Now the animal rights (not animal welfare) folks are calling music artist Lady Gaga a Judas for allegedly being as hypocritical as they are. After once hailing her as a hero after she told Ellen DeGeneres that she hated fur, PETA now thinks that she was just giving animal extremists her best poker face. The paparazzi have captured images of Gaga wearing several furs—that PETA assumes are real and not faux—and now PETA is upset. Dan Mathews, the group’s Senior Vice President, asks:

What happened? Are your stylists telling you that it’s fake, or are you a turncoat?

And it comes with a warning (or perhaps a threat), too: Mathews says Gaga may soon be a target just like Kim Kardashian, who was “flour-bombed” for wearing fur. Did PETA really think that Lady Gaga was firmly in their camp when one of her more famous fashion moves was a dress made out of real meat?

Lady Gaga has yet to respond, so it remains to be seen if she will be able to just dance her way out of this one. Considering the self-described “press sluts” at PETA are just trying to become a fame monster, we’re confident she won’t let the noise affect her style. We hope that Gaga and her fans realize that PETA should really look inward if they want to criticize. After all, they kill more than 95% of the animals that pass through their “pet shelter.” You can check out the proof at PetaKillsAnimals.com.
