To the Editor:

By all means, law enforcement should be investigating acts of animal rights terrorism with the same intensity of other forms of terrorism. In particular, the violent animal rights group known as SHAC (Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty) has been responsible for much more than just broken windows and unsolicited paint jobs.

In Great Britain and the United States, SHAC activists have torched cars, stalked their targets to and from home and made death threats against scientists and their families. They even beat one executive with a baseball bat while his terrified wife and children watched.

The FBI should be congratulated for focusing on these thugs. Terrorism is terrorism, whether its practitioners wear turbans or ski masks.
