It shouldn’t surprise anyone that the recent report on airline food equated strictly vegetarian meals with “healthy” eating (“Denver’s No. 1 in healthy airport food,” Sun Herald Travel section, Dec. 28). The report’s source, an organization called the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, is actually an animal rights group.
As more Americans are learning, PCRM is affiliated with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. The group’s president sits on the board of the PETA Foundation. And PETA has given it nearly $1 million to date. The result? Deceptive animal activists wearing the sheep’s clothing of the medical profession.
The mission of the “Physicians Committee” is the same as PETA’s: to remove beef, chicken and pork and all dairy foods from our diets, whether we like it or not. Most Americans know better than to take dietary advice from animal rights radicals.
