Amy Lanou’s objection to milk, ribs, and steak has nothing to do with good nutrition and everything with animal rights. Lanou works for the misnamed Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), a deceptive animal-rights group affiliated with PETA – People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. PETA has already steered over $1.3 million to PCRM.
Lanou and PCRM aren’t concerned about our health. They oppose eating meat and dairy products because they believe a cow’s life is worth the same as a human being’s.
In addition to labeling any food containing animal protein as “unhealthy,” PCRM opposes life-saving cancer and AIDS research that requires lab animals. And last year one of its representatives actually advocated killing physicians who do this important work.
If this is “responsible” medicine, I need a new dictionary.
