Patrice Green’s anti-meat prescription for global climate change would be more credible if she weren’t backed by a radical animal rights group (“Save the planet with a vegetarian diet,” July 19).
The misnamed Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine is affiliated with and funded by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
Both groups oppose the consumption of meat and dairy products because they believe animals deserve the “right” not to be eaten.
If Ms. Green wants to live on a diet of “whole grains and beans, lentils and peas,” that’s her choice.
But my chicken sandwich is my choice, too.
And let’s not pretend that either of us is an anti-global-warming crusader.
